December 4, 1927 - September 8, 2016 Donald Keith Olson, of Oceanside, California, passed away peacefully September 8, 2016. Don was born December 4, 1927 in Glendale, California to Lawrence Edward and Ada Berger Olson. Don is survived by his wife, Joyce; brother, Forest; five children; and eleven grandchildren. Don attended Woodrow Wilson Jr. High School where he was class valedictorian. He enlisted in the Navy during WWII where he was selected for radio technician school. After serving in the Navy he attended Cal Berkley on the GI Bill where he graduated with a degree in Accounting. Don's career began with Price Waterhouse, but soon after he went to work for his older brother Forest and working together they grew Forest E. Olson Real Estate into one of the largest residential real estate companies in the world. It is now known as Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate. Don was extremely competitive and had the discipline to master whatever sport he participated in. His accomplishments included a perfect 300 game in bowling, 6 holes-in-one in golf, and an A rating as a tennis player. Don completed the Boston Marathon in 1969 and traveled to San Antonio to participate in the Senior World Skeet Shooting Championships in 1987. Don also enjoyed competing in ballroom dance competitions with his wife, Joyce. Don will be remembered for his love of God and people, and his humor. An active member of the Ocean Hills Country Club community, Don served as president of his village board for nine years. Don was a born again Christian and attended North Coast Church in Vista, CA. A private memorial service will be held at Ocean Hills Country Club, October 1, 2016. Internment will be at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego.
