Donna Jean Strong Obituary
STRONG, DONNA JEAN - 66, of Huntington Beach, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017. Born in Canton, OH, July 9, 1951, she resided in Huntington Beach, CA, from 2003 until 2017. Donna is survived by her significant other of 15 1/2 years, Rick Streitfeld and a few precious extended family members.  She was predeceased by her father, Donald Strong, and mother, Vella Smith of Dayton, and her brother, Daniel Strong.  Donna's favorite places to visit were the Ramakrishna Monastery in Trabuco Canyon, the Ojai Retreat and Idyllwild's Rainbow Inn, although anywhere she can sit peacefully under beautiful trees would make her happy.  Donna was a brilliant writer who wrote on topics of creativity, health, art, travel and animals.  She was author of two wonderful books, "Coming Home to Calm" and "Love Your Lymph."  She was a freelance writer and wrote for magazines such as Awareness, Rise Up, Spirit & Yogi Times. In 2013, she also produced a CD called "Harmony of Bees," which featured live tracks of bees pollinating lavender fields in Ojai, CA.  Donna worked for the Ohio Arts Council in the 1980's-1990's.  She attended the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts.  Donna graduated Magna Cum Laude with Special Honors for work on creativity from Kent State University. Her true love was caring for the many cats and dogs she rescued over the years, giving them food, shelter and a very loving home. A kinder, more loving soul would be hard to find. She is truly missed by Rick and her 3 rescued cats, Sam, Kiran and Mati, and the many friends and extended family who loved and enjoyed Donna's special light. Memorial Donations may be made to the Humane Society.  Please Google,  Kindred Spirits Humane Society.
