September 20, 1928 - July 4, 2015 In the afternoon of July 4, 2015, Donna passed away of natural causes. She was being visited and comforted by family members at Belmont Village in Burbank, CA at the time of her passing. She was 86 years old. Donna P. Hurth was born in Los Angeles, the third of five children to Catherine Critchley and Edmond Leon Hurth. She grew up in Los Angeles and attended Bishop Conaty High School and Mount St. Mary's College. Donna was a trained opera singer and sang at church and for events at St. Martin of Tours and the Freedom Foundation. She loved hosting big parties and events, and she always had an appropriate Irish saying to go along with the moment. Donna may be most remembered for all of her charitable activities, including President of National Charity League Los Angeles Founder Chapter, President of the Coronet Debutante Ball Board, Lamplighters, Ticktockers, and heading the Leprechaun Ball. Donna was recognized and honored by the Mayor and City Council as Woman of the Year for the City of Los Angeles in 1974 for all of her charity work. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four of her children, and three siblings. She is survived by her sister, her brother-in-law, five children, 21 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Memorial services will be held at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church on Saturday, July 11th, at 10am.
