E. William Haskell Obituary
1923 - 2016 Longtime Lido Isle resident E. William Haskell, Jr. passed away on October 15, 2016 at the age of 93. A graduate of UCLA and the USC School of Dentistry, Dr. Haskell was a well-known dentist in Santa Ana for many years. In the mid 1970's he retired to take up teaching at the USC dental school. He served in the U.S. Army during both WWII and the Korean Conflict. An avid yachtsman, Dr. Haskell sailed competitively in both dinghies and ocean racing boats. He was a member of Lido Isle Yacht Club and Newport Harbor Yacht Club. Dr. Haskell served as Commodore of the Lido Isle Yacht Club, Master of his Masonic Lodge in Santa Ana, and was active in the Santa Ana Rotary and the O.C. Dental Society. He and his family moved to Lido Isle in 1959. Dr. Haskell is survived by his wife of 72 years, Barbara Haskell; his three children, Dick Haskell, Sharon Haskell, and Bob Haskell; his five grandchildren, Tyler Haskell, Carrie Caillouette, Zack Haskell, Jake Haskell, and Cooper Haskell; and his two great grandchildren, Fletcher Haskell and Emerson Haskell. No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Sherman Library and Gardens in Corona Del Mar.
