He was born September 4, 1937 in Los Angeles, the son of Edward and Clarissa (Centrone) Plantamura. Nick was a graduate of Hoover High School and attended Occidental College on a music scholarship. Nick served St. Peter's by the Sea Presbyterian Church by singing for three decades in the choir, where he was appreciated for his comradery and musical ear. In his later years, Nick served as a board member of the local branch for Habitat for Humanity, as president of the Peninsula Breakfast Club, and as a board member of the Peninsula Symphony. In addition, he received awards and recognition for his volunteer work with the 15th Street School family literacy program, where he tutored adults in math. Nick is survived by his wife Rita Plantamura, four children: Terry (Mark) Stevenson, Debbie (Jay) Green, Tom (Suzy) Plantamura, and Gina Villareal; sister Carol Plantamura; and twelve grandchildren. A Funeral service will be held on April 15, 2017 at 1:00 pm at St. Peter's by the Sea Presbyterian Church, 6410 Palos Verdes Drive South, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.
