Edward G. Kastelanch Obituary
January 14, 1945 - November 23, 2017 Edward George Kastelanch of Culver City, California, passed on November 23, 2017 at the age of 72 following complications from a heart attack. Ed was born January 14, 1945 in Fountain Hill, Pennsylvania, to Olga Romanick and Carl Kastlenach who emigrated from Poland. He grew up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with his parents and his beloved sister, Barbara "Bobbie" Kastelanch Beverstock, (1933-2013). In 1962, Ed answered his country's call and enlisted in the United States Navy. Assigned to Attack Squadron 93, he served on the USS Ranger as an airplane mechanic and was honorably discharged in 1966. Ed continued his service in the US Naval Reserves until 1968. Ed earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Moravian College in 1971 and a Master of Arts in Sociology from California State University, San Diego in 1973. Ed was happily married to Janice Hepner of Los Angeles until he was widowed in January 2015. For much of his life, Ed worked in sales as a representative of high-end cloth for custom-made clothing-most recently for Jodek International in Beverly Hills. Ed was known for his infectious smile, boundless energy, and unwavering commitment to his customers and job-both of which he loved very much. Everybody who worked with Ed could not help but smile and be touched by his warmth. Ed will be remembered fondly by his friends, colleagues, and family and his memory will continue to be an enduring inspiration. Ed will remain forever in our hearts and never forgotten. Ed is survived by his niece Sharon Beverstock, nephew Mark DiSabatino, nephew Norm Beverstock, partner Barbara Lever, and niece Connie LeGaux. Services will be held at Eden Memorial Park in Mission Hills, CA, on December 5, 2017 at 11:00 am.
