Edward H. Rockey Obituary
February 3, 1928 - September 21, 2017 Ed Rockey peacefully graduated from earth school on September 21, in his home, enfolded in love. What an amazing man, what an incredible 89 years. He was born in 1928 in New York, and spent his childhood in Sunnyside, Queens. Ed joined the Army in 1945 and served in the Army Field Artillery on Task Force Frost. Ed earned a Ph.D. in Communication at New York University. In 1970, Ed began his career at Pepperdine University as both a faculty member and as the founding Chair of the Communications Division on the Malibu campus. He joined the School of Business and Management as a professor of Behavioral Science in 1973. In his 44 years teaching at Pepperdine, Ed fulfilled his life's mission to "facilitate the growth and development of others, and of myself." He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Molly, his sons John (Franzi), Stephen (Sheila), and Paul (Janis), brother Wendell, sister Louise Perry, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
