Edward Philip KYBURZ Obituary
March 28, 1928 - July 3, 2015 "Ed" of La Ca¿ada, California passed away at home from a long battle with Parkinson's. Ed was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Rosa Georgina Kyburz. Ed and Georgina were married in Chuquicamata, Chile on December 21,1952. Ed is survived by his children Philip D. Kyburz, William C. Kyburz (Amy Roth), Mary Anne Kyburz-Ladue (Winslow H. Ladue); his brother Philip P. Kyburz (Pauli Kyburz); grandsons Arlin W. Ladue, Caleb E. Ladue, and Andrew E. Kyburz; and many nieces and nephews and grandnieces. Edward was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on March 28, 1928, son of Edward Kyburz and Anna Helen Kyburz. Ed graduated from Malverne High School, NY, 1947. He received his Mining Engineering degree from 'Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy' in Rolla, and his Master's in Mining Engineering from U. of Arizona. Edward started his long career in Engineering working for Anaconda Copper Company in Chile, and Cerro de Pasco Andina Corp. in Chile until 1973, and for Parsons Co. in 1981. Edward also worked for Dole Inc. as an Irrigation Engineer from 1987 until his retirement. Ed served for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Furth, Germany in 1955. Ed was a devoted husband, Dad, Grandad, Uncle and Granduncle. He loved playing tennis, swimming, hiking, playing Bridge (with Georgie as his partner), traveling and his family. Memorial Services/Interment will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 1:00PM, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1712 South Glendale Avenue, Glendale, CA, in the 'Wee Kirk o' the Heather'.
