Eleanor Harrison Hatton Obituary
August 29, 1934 - December 1, 2016 Eleanor "Ellie" Harrison Hatton (82) adoring mother of John (Mary) Hatton, Lisa (JJ) Turkmany, Lori (Jeff) Reesing and Mary Jane (Scott) Smith, and beloved grandmother to Katie Grace, Jack, Thomas and Brady Hatton, Jessica and Jillian Turkmany, Brendan and Aidan Reesing, passed away December 1, 2016 in Pasadena, California. Ellie is also survived by her oldest sister Marie Therese Stanton (Bob), numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. She is pre-deceased by her cherished husband, Vincent Hatton, and older sister, Joan Harrison Easterbrook. Born in 1934 in Santa Monica, the youngest of three daughters to Marie and John Harrison, Ellie spent a carefree childhood in her beloved hometown of Venice, California, where she attended St. Clements Catholic School, St. Monica's Catholic High School and Marymount College. Joyfully devoted to children, friends and family, Ellie was a life-long school-teacher in the classroom, and in "life," as a trusted guide and confidant to many who knew and loved her. In 1963 she met the love of her life, Vince Hatton, a handsome All-City football player from West Los Angeles who played for the UCLA Bruins, a school for which they were proud supporters. They married in 1964, creating a warm and welcoming home in the San Fernando Valley for their four children, their friends and family, where good food and fun were always aplenty. A longtime parishioner and volunteer at St. Mel's Catholic School and Church in Woodland Hills, Ellie was also a faithful fan of Notre Dame High School, where her four children attended, and was the Alumni Director for many years. After her beloved Vince passed away in 1996, Ellie began her second career, helping to raise her eight grandchildren who were the true loves of her life. A devout Irish Catholic, Ellie's steadfast faith in God was the mainstay of her daily life, a virtue she modeled for her family and friends through life's peaks and valleys.
