July 26, 1928 - March 14, 2015 Elizabeth "Beth" Pattrick Mackenzie, born in Kansas City, Missouri, died age 86 in Pasadena, Ca. A So Cal resident since 1941, she was born to John H. Pattrick and Elizabeth R. Pattrick, both of Missouri. She resided in Glendale with parents and younger brother Robert, and is a graduate of Hoover High School, Pepperdine University, (Teaching Credential), University of Southern California, (MFA in Film/TV Production), and Cal State University Northridge (MA Cinematic Arts). Beth achieved successful careers in teaching and in television production. Her media career included travel programming with "Global Zobel", then documentaries, one of which won an Emmy award. She was a producer for NBC's "The Sunday Show" for 17 years. Noteworthy programs included audiences with the Pope and the Dalai Lama. She is best remembered for ongoing support of environmental, social justice and humanitarian causes. Through work, her spiritual practices grew to reflect a contemplative approach in both Christian and Buddhist traditions; she was an avid student and traveled to study under great masters of each discipline. Beth is predeceased by her parents, her brother and her former husband, Kent Mackenzie. Memorial Services for Beth will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 1:30 pm in the Little Church of the Flowers, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, CA.
