Elliott Boris Stuart Maltzman Obituary
May 4, 1922 - August 21, 2015 Adoring husband of Rusty for 60 years, Elliott's life was a complete one, filled with career, family, friendship and fun. His children, Susan Small (Hal), Mark Maltzman (Carroll), Pamela Beck (Dennis), and Carole Sherman will remember him as a warm, affectionate and loving father. He was our rock, with one great piece of advice for anyone with a problem: "Forget About It!" Elliott was proud of his military service, having seen combat as a lieutenant in the Pacific during World War II. He was privileged to be at the Japanese surrender ceremony aboard the U.S.S. Missouri in Tokyo harbor. He was admired and respected by those with whom he dealt in the building industry and was one of the leaders in subsidized housing. Elliott's passions were golf, bridge, the racetrack - but more than anything, his beloved Rusty! Elliott was a traditional man of the 20th Century with all the best values of his generation; dedication, devotion, reliability, and integrity. He was the beloved "Poppy" to nine loving grandchildren, Matt Small (Amy), Hillary Weiner (Brett), Allison Leeds (Jordan), Morgan Shekhter (Boris), Kacey Miyagami (Noriko), Brandon Beck (Natasha), Dustin Beck (Tiffany), Alexandra Sherman (Joseph Mendelis) and Max Sherman; and ten great grandchildren Abigail, Hazel and Cameron Weiner, Lucas and Riley Leeds, Isabella, Madeline and Edison Small, Simon Shekhter and Ryder Beck. Everyone whose heart Elliott touched will miss him. But our sadness at losing him - sorry Daddy - we won't so easily "forget about it." Certainly we will never forget about YOU. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to The John Douglas French Alzheimer's Foundation or Tower Cancer Research Foundation.
