Emil Iannaccone Obituary
February 16, 1943 - July 29, 2018 ADVERTISING AND MEDIA PROFESSIONAL Recently the world lost one of the most creative and innovative advertising and media minds of the 20th Century. Emil Iannaccone earned this reputation over a 40 year career on both sides of the continent, starting in his hometown of New York City and ending in Los Angeles. Along the way he had stops with Dancer-Fitzgerald-Sample, Young and Rubicam, J. Walter Thompson, Needham, Harper and Steers and Western International Media. Much of Emil's early career involved creative and planning account work for companies that included General Mills, American Home Products, Chrysler Corporation, Frito Lay, GE, Goodyear, ARCO, Milton Bradley, American Honda, Sears, The California Lottery and many more. Over the years his reputation grew to where many thought Emil to be the pre-eminent analytical and strategic mind in the advertising world. He was to many, the original "out of the box thinker." It was during his tenure at Western International Media where he became a highly respected "Rainmaker", leading the Western Team on pitches that brought in $2B in business his first year with the company. Emil leaves behind Tessa, who was the love of his life and to quote Emil, "The best thing that ever happened to me." And, although they were together only a few short years, it was a time that saw Emil the happiest he had ever been. In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to the Red Cloud Indian School, 100 Mission Drive, Pine Ridge, South Dakota 57770 or Regis High School, 55 E 84th Street, New York, NY 10028.
