Frances (Feigelah Weiss) Simon Obituary
March 25, 1925 - March 28, 2017 Born in Czechoslovakia. At Passover of 1944 fascist authorities sent her to a ghetto and soon after to Auschwitz concentration camp. She was spared extermination; her parents and 6 younger siblings were not so fortunate. She survived starvation and a death march before her liberation in 1945. After reuniting with her dearest older brother Ben in a displaced persons camp, she met the love of her life, Albert Simon. Ben (Rae) and Frances married on the same day in January 1946. With the help of her dearest sister-in law Jean Moss (Leo) she came to Los Angeles in 1949 to start a new life. A true American success story they raised a family, ran a successful clothing manufacturing company and then a real estate development company. Active in the local Jewish community and B'nai Brith, she had a large circle of friends. Frances was the heart and soul of our family. She leaves behind her beloved Albert, devoted children Milton (Esther), Bruce (Jacqueline), and Frank (Mara), eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, and counting. Her wish was never to be forgotten and to all that knew her, she was unforgettable.
