Francine Ruth Juster Obituary
May 8, 1930 - March 22, 2016 Born May 8, 1930 in Chicago, where she lived for 14 years, enjoying the "Windy City." She moved to Los Angeles in 1944, driving across war-time America with her parents, brother, and twin sister. Francine attended Dorsey High School where she met lifelong friends known forever after as "the Club Girls." Francine married and had four children -- Ellen Ann, Maryjo, Karen, and John -- who were the center of her universe. Family was always first and foremost, and she cherished her roles as mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Sadly she was predeceased by her daughter Maryjo in 2011. Francine was the figurative "adoptive mom" to countless friends and relatives, known to many as "Nana" or "Fluffy." She was a wonderful cook and always kept a lovely home that was open to all. Throughout the years everyone enjoyed meals, conversation, and laughter around her kitchen table. When her children were young she sewed outfits for them and then knitted sweaters and ponchos and blankets for all the kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Francine was a lover of life, which she imbued in her children. She was a true and loyal friend to all who knew her. She accepted everyone without judgment, she opened her heart, and she gave of herself freely. Her effortless charm and humor naturally drew people to her. In her life she met every adversity with grace, courage, and resolve, including these last few weeks as she embraced her final transition with strength, serenity, and love. In lieu of flowers Francine requested that donations be made to the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging or Skirball Hopsice and above all Francine would want each of you to live a loving life and find humor every day. A funeral will be held at Eden Memorial Park in Mission Hills on Friday March 25 at 2:00 p.m.
