May 14, 1976 - July 29, 2015 Gabriela "Gaby" Kabrins Alban's life was tragically cut short on July 29, 2015 by a senseless act of violence in Cape Town, South Africa. Gaby was born May 14, 1976 in Los Angeles and resided in Brentwood. She graduated from Beverly Hills High School and Pepperdine University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. An entrepreneur at heart, Gaby spoke three languages and was co-founder of the award-winning Hispanic marketing agency, Conexi¿n and Managing Partner of Hola Mart¿n. Gaby was passionate about her work, her family and especially her dogs, Teddy and Chica. She was incredibly talented, passionate, hard-working, and always willing to share her knowledge with others. She served on Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's Communications Steering Committee for the 2010 Census and earned numerous awards within the Latin business community, including a Mujeres Destacadas (Outstanding Women) Award from La Opini¿n. Friends and family have described Gaby as a ray of light, a role model, beautiful, warm, caring, creative, and one of the sweetest, most genuine people you could have known. Gaby had a huge heart, was generous with her time and was always there to help the people that she loved. She had a very special relationship with her grandparents, Herman and Sofia Weitz, with whom she lived for a time. Gaby's family credits her with saving her grandmother's life when, sensing something was not right when they were in the car, she changed direction and took her directly to the emergency room. Gaby is survived by her mother and stepfather, Doris Weitz and Alexander Williams of Los Angeles and father and stepmother, Howdy and Linda Kabrins of Malibu, as well as stepsisters Nikki Steen, Nicole Williams and Pia DeDeyn, aunts and uncles, Jacqueline Weitz, Ricardo and Martine Weitz, Ron and Judy Kabrins, and Sondra and David Bailey, cousins Tina Goodman, Vivian Baril, Laura Baril-Aziz, Paul Weitz, Nicole Weitz, Jeanine Canter, Jodi Kramer, Russell Kabrins, and David Craig Wilcox.
