November 23, 1928 - April 1, 2017 It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce that Glen Francis White passed away on April 1, 2017, in Bellevue, Washington, of complications from Alzheimer's disease. He was 88 years old. He was born on November 23, 1928, in Bell, California, to Thomas and Doris White. He spent most of his life in California and decided to move to the Seattle area in 2013 where he resided at Marica's Assisted Family Home in Bellevue. Glen grew up in Bell, California, where he met Josephine Dalu at Bell High School and later married. He played sports in high school and remained active until he was diagnosed four years ago. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1950 and was stationed in Munich, Germany, where he lived with his wife, Josephine and his new daughter, in the small suburb of Dachau. He left the Army with the rank of staff sergeant in 1953. His career included roles at U.S. Steel, North American Rockwell Corporation, The Ralph M. Parsons Company, and Rockwell International. He was very proud of his involvement in the space program including the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs. He also worked on the B-1 Bomber and Paraglider development. He earned an Associate in Arts degree in Business Management from Cerritos College, a BA in Sociology from California State University, Fullerton and a Master's degree in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach. Glen enjoyed to travel where he visited 6 continents and 37 countries. Glen was most proud of his family and for those of you who knew him, he could talk for hours about them. He is survived by four sons and one daughter. Glen also had ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his only sibling, Gladys Sparks, who passed away in December, 2016. A mass will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary, 14815 Paramount Blvd., Paramount, California, at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2017. Following the mass, Glen will be laid to rest with a graveside service near his parents and sister at Resurrection Cemetery, 966 N. Potrero Grande Dr., Montebello, CA 90640.
