Gloria Klein Kam Obituary
October 15, 1924 - April 14, 2017 Aka Gloria Camden, her stage name, Gloria couldn't be prouder of her SAG/AFTRA union membership! She was the beloved mother of Don Klein and Michele Klein Lane. She was born in Jersey City and graduated from New York University. She married Leonard Klein, the love of her life, but was widowed at the age of 36. Upon re-marrying, she commenced a 16-year career as a Probation Officer In Rockland County, N.Y. In 1981, she followed her literary agent son, Don, and psychotherapist daughter, Michele, to Los Angeles, and like other Hollywood "starlets", became an actress. She co-starred with Shelley Long in the romantic comedy FROZEN ASSETS, and was featured in many sit coms, MOW's and court dramas. Her sense of humor was contagious. She had the most magnetic personality. Broadway, progressive causes, and her commitment to Israel were her passions. But most of all, she was the archetypal loving mother to Don and Michele (David); grandmother to Tara and Lauren (Todd), great-grandmother to Lyla and Chloe, and devoted sister to Kenneth (Barbara) Baron. Services will be held this Sunday, April 23rd, at 1:00 at Eden Memorial, 11500 Sepulveda, Mission Hills, CA. Family and friends are welcome to a Celebration of Life party at the home of Don Klein following the service. Donations in her honor may be made to Congregation Kol Ami, West Hollywood; Planned Parenthood; CAMERA.ORG.
