Hamilton Williams Obituary

WILLIAMS, Hamilton Davis
Singer, broadcaster, teacher, mentor, Nov. 15, 1922 to June 30, 2006 of prostate cancer. Those of you who were classical music fans in the 60's and 70's will remember his nightly Concerto from Coldwater Canyon on KCBH and his interviews with the likes of Zubin Mehta, Beverly Sills, Eugene Ormandy and Erich Leinsdorf. His dulcet tones with meticulous attention to the pronunciation of names and terms in all languages were later heard on KFAC. As an opera and concert performer he was in great demand, especially in the Pasadena area. For the past thirty years Hamilton has been teaching voice from his studio at Highland and Hollywood. His students will miss him greatly. A widower of twenty seven years, he is survived by his companion and mentee of thirty three years, William Jackson of Hollywood. No services are planned, but there will be celebration of his life, which all whose lives he touched are welcome to attend. For information contact Mr. Jackson at 213/999-2861.
