Harlan E. Herzberg Obituary
December 8, 1924 - December 9, 2017 Born 1924 in Los Angeles, California, to Blanche and Harry Herzberg. His mother was also born in Los Angeles. He graduated from Los Angeles High School, as did both his parents. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Southern California where he served as President of both ZBT and the Interfraternity Council as a member of the Student Senate and was also a Trojan Knight. He later attended dental school at U.S.C. and graduated in 1943. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1953. After that period, he practiced dentistry in the Beverly Hills area for close to 40 years. He is survived by his soulmate, his wife Barbara, his four children and their spouses, Mark (Anne) Herzberg, Susan (Larry) Hyman, Stacy (Rod) Storm, and Vicki (Luis) Izquierdo, and his two stepchildren, Deborah (Alfredo) Ringel and Andrew Taper. He is also survived by his grandchildren and their spouses Chelsea (Joey) Fazioli, Lexie (Trevor) Preston, Kelly Wilson, Justin and Shelby Hyman, Harrison and Haley Herzberg, and his step-grandchildren Jessie (Dan) Thrash, Sara Storm, Vanessa Ringel (Gaspar Obando) and Selina Ringel (Dan Levy) and his great-grandchildren Haydn Preston and Gracie Fazioli. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to his caregivers Jerome Bueno and Jonathan Sarreal who supported him for many years. Harlan was a private person who took his greatest pleasures from his pride in his family, the love affair with his wife, USC Trojan football and the peace and serenity of fly fishing in his favorite river of Montana. He will be deeply missed.
