March 11, 1922 - January 25, 2016 Harold Alfred Meyers, 93, of Century City, died Monday. Hal was born to the late Charles and Ida Meyers on March 11, 1922, in Los Angeles, California. Everything Hal achieved in life was because of his imagination and through the fruits of his own effort. Starting from almost nothing, Hal built a Fortune 500 company by being a pioneer in the world of women's eye-glass fashion. He revolutionized the industry and established a worldwide reputation by creating frames that featured removable ornamentation and decorative designs. Hal is also known for the innovative silver bracelet charms he created for illustrious movie stars and for Disney. His numerous accomplishments in the business world afforded him the ability to retire at the age of 50. But his financial successes were far less important to him than his connections to people. He never forgot that the most important things in life were not numbers or currency, but the love of those around you. As Hal himself said: "I am a man who gives a lot, asks a lot, and never lets anyone tell me what my values should be. I seek the truth, expect the truth, and speak it." Hal is survived by a loving wife, Janice Meyers, daughter Sheri Meyers, son Dennis Meyers, and grandchildren Chris Phillips, Claire Phillips, Max Meyers, and Forest Lieberman, as well as the scores of others whose lives he touched.
