Helen Patricia Conroy Obituary
December 12, 1925 - January 2, 2016 Helen Patricia "Pat" Conroy, age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Oak Garden in Arcadia, California. She was born December 12, 1925 in Fairbury, Illinois to Ralph Bane Crawford and Helen Julia Eckhart. She was a graduate of the Los Angeles County School of Nursing in 1948. She married the love of her life, Neil Francis Conroy, on January 15, 1949. Together, they raised their 6 sons, Neil, John, Patrick, Michael, Kevin and Timothy and their daughter, Maureen, in Pasadena. "Pat" remained a homemaker for many years and then returned to her nursing career for 20 years in the Operating Room at Huntington Memorial Hospital. "Pat" travelled the world with her husband of 46 years and vacationed annually with her family at Tioga Pass campgrounds. Her love of gardening brought her to volunteer at Descanso Gardens, Huntington Library and the LA County Arboretum. When she wasn't taking yoga classes or water aerobics at the Pasadena Athletic Club, she would relish in visiting and taking care of her eleven grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Robert, Kyle, Ryan, Jared, Caitlin, Morgan, Brian, Lauren, Gaby and Mariel. She was blessed to attend the wedding of her grandson Rob to his bride, Kirsten and to welcome the birth of her great grandson, Benjamin. Her husband, Neil, son, Timothy, and her daughter-in-law, Joanne precede her in death. She is survived by her sons and daughter and their spouses, Kathy, Camille, Helen, Julia, Richard, and Cindy, her sister, Sally Duell, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at noon at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1527 Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. "Pat" lived a truly wonderful life and will be forever remembered as the best Mom in the world, the best Granny and a fabulous friend!
