October 1, 1930 - November 5, 2015 Henry Wirtschafter was born in Trenton, NJ. He moved to California at five years of age, and went on to attend LA High and UCLA. A veteran of the Korean War, Hank was a true American patriot. He loved his business of windows, doors and construction. While working, he always found time for his hobbies: He was a beloved Little League coach for 19 years, an avid fan of UCLA athletics, and a social butterfly among his buddies in the card room at the Bicycle Club. Hank also found the time to give back to his community, volunteering at the 1984 Olympic Games and delivering food to those in need through Meals on Wheels. Hank loved his dog Wendi and was a fixture at the local horse racing tracks, combining two of his biggest passions; animals and gambling. He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 61 years, 3 children, Gary (Elise), Joy (Robert Penner) and Robert, grandchildren Eric, Carla, Amy, Valerie, David and Lila, and brother Sam (Margo). Funeral service will be held at Hillside Memorial Park on Tuesday, November 10, at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Meals on Wheels, or a .
