Henry Chin Obituary

Chin, Henry S.
Born 1924 in Providence, Rhode Island, Henry S. Chin passed away Saturday, February 1, 2003 in Santa Monica, California from complications related to a fall and pneumonia. He graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High School in Fall River, Massachusetts, where he was Class President. After honorably serving as a Captain in the U.S. Army during World War II, Henry graduated from Harvard College. He then received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Cornell University. Henry came to Los Angeles in 1959 and professionally had a long, distinguished career as a stockbroker and vice-president with several well-known brokerage houses. Active in his alumni activities, Henry served as president of the Cornell Club of Southern California and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Harvard Club of Southern California. A loving husband, proud, devoted father and caring grandfather, he leaves Naida, his beloved wife of 45 years; his dear children Pamela Chin Lager (Marvin), Dr. Brenda Lee (Dr. Bennett), Geoffrey, Randal (Dr. Christine) and Oliver (Amy) and seven cherished grandchildren. Henry is also survived by his wonderful sisters Lilly Tow of Providence, Rhode Island, Margaret Lee, Esther Tow and Madeline Wong of Massachusetts, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will be always loved, deeply missed and never forgotten by them all. Private services and interment were held February 7th at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale.

I still cannot believe that you are not here, since there are so many things I still did not get to say to you. I suppose that's how it is, but it makes me miss you that much more. I will be forever grateful for all the things you and mom did for us, even those that happened before I was born or can never remember. Wherever you are, know that I and your family will always love you.
