July 6, 1925 - May 1, 2015 Howard David Franklin, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away in The Woodlands, Texas. He was the youngest of four children born to John and Helena Franklin of Toronto, Canada. Howard will be forever remembered as a courageous optimist who warmed the hearts of many with his eternal kindness, sense of humor and affable personality. His long professional career as an exceptional communicator and salesman began early. At age 16, he joined the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) in Toronto as a copy boy and later as a radio announcer before and after his military service. During World War II, he served with distinction with the Royal Canadian Air Force as a B-24 waist-gunner in the RAF 99th "Black Panther" Squadron in the India-Burma Theatre. In 1965, Howard moved his family from Toronto to Los Angeles, where he made a successful career for over 40 years as a commercial insurance broker with his own company, GFM Ins. Assoc. Howard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy; 3 sons, Philip, Paul and Peter; 2 daughters-in-law, Terry and Rita; and his granddaughter, Erin.
