Howard Douglas Mooers Jr. Obituary
May 18, 1923 - December 31, 2016 He spontaneously broke out in song at Christmas, singing every lyric to "Don't Cry for Me Argentina". I feel like it was his way of telling the family something. On my grandma's birthday, Howard peacefully died in his sleep, in the home he built. He had been my grandmother's faithful companion since before I was born, and throughout her many years with dementia. He visited her til her last days. This man survived 3 plane crashes, was a POW for a year, walked the death march in WWII, lost half his body weight, and survived by eating cats. He built computers in his 80's, traveled around the world several times, was a master electrician and bridge player, built ham radios, was an avid fisherman, chess player champion.....and so much more. I have no idea how he lived to be 93, because he literally only consumed chocolate milk over his corn flakes, a daily pack of cigarettes, and Pepsi! Thanks for loving my grandmother so faithfully even til the end. You have fought a great fight, been courageous and strong. Will will miss you.........Amber Bradberry Howard, father to Douglas, Palmale, CA.,Dianne, Incline Village, NV.,Marilyn, deceased, great-grandfather to Casey, Sydney and Colter.
