Howard Pilch Obituary
Howard died last week -- the suddenness of his death is so surreal. He was my good friend for 41 years. I am 69 years old and I am an estate planning attorney, so I have seen more than my share of death. No one's death has ever touched me like Howard's. Howard was a character with a capital "C." He was one of a kind. He was bigger than life. Howard was a warm, compassionate, loving and profoundly decent man. Howard was a good friend to all. He was the best family man I have ever seen. He was a terrific husband to his wife Kathe. He was the best son his mother Rose could ever hope for. But, he was the absolutely best father (and mother) to his daughters Jessica and Rebecca (and grandfather to their four children -- Chason, Eleanor, Sienna and Oliver). Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush. Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there; I did not die. Howard, you will always be in our hearts. You are part of who we are. We will all miss you every day for the rest of our lives. Your good friend, Jon Brod
