Hubert Molina Obituary
August 6, 1926 - January 15, 2016 Hubert Molina, Ph.D Linguistics, passed away on January 15, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Molina and daughter, Lisa Molina. Born to Gilberto and Rose Molina, immigrants from Mexico, Dr. Molina set high aspirations for himself. He joined the Navy and was enrolled in officer school, ultimately promoted to Ensign. After his commission in the Navy, he attended and received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He completed his master's degree from the University of New Mexico and earned his Ph.D in Linguistics and Education from University California Los Angeles. Dr. Molina left a legacy in his work on language acquisition in the 2nd language class room. This was accomplished by his research, written works and applications in the classroom. He worked at the Southwest Regional Laboratory (SWRL) and taught at California State Northridge University and University of California Irvine. His passion for languages, finance, history and sports, including tennis and skiing, shaped his adventures and success in life. He is survived by his loving wife, Lillian Molina, his daughter, Dr. Lisa Molina and his grandchildren Katie, Lily and Jesse, and son-in-law, Jeb. He will forever be in our hearts.
