Ingeborg Shuster Obituary
August 3, 1928 - February 15, 2017 Our Mother, Oma and Gros-Oma Ingeborg "Mickey" Shuster died on February 15, 2017 of congestive heart failure. She was a treasure and an inspiration to all of us. She was born on August 3, 1928 in Mannheim, Germany, to Elizabeth Staudte (nee Sprenger) and Alfred Staudte. Her adolescent years were shadowed by World War II, and like many children of the time, she was sent to live with relatives in southern Germany during the worst parts of the war. After the war she worked on a United States Army base in Mannheim where she met CWO Philip Shuster and by 1951 they were engaged to marry. They married on March 4, 1952 in Mannheim and, in anticipation of Philip's retirement, they moved to New Jersey. In March 1955 they happily moved to sunny Arcadia, California where Ingeborg lived for the next 61 years. After Philip's passing in 1991, she began 26 years as a widowed woman and spent many happy days reading, completing her daily crossword and sudoku puzzles, and spending time with her family. She is survived by daughter Susanna Shuster of Hollywood, daughter Barbara Shuster Wild of Glendora, her grandsons Anthony and Brian Wild, Anthony's wife Viridiana Zazueta Wild, and her two great-grandsons Stephen and Dylan Wild. She was preceded in death by her husband Philip and her son-in-law Stephen Wild. She was very happy to live to see her great-grandchildren. The family thanks Dr. Levon Gazarian and Dr. Stephen Soldo of Arcadia, the staff of Methodist Hospital of Arcadia, and private nurse Letty Alvarado who cared for Ingeborg over her last year. A Celebration of Life will be held in late June. For information contact [email protected]
