Ingrid Margaret Roberts Obituary
September 10, 1967 - June 8, 2015 Ingrid Margaret Roberts was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Niece, Aunt, Cousin, and dear Friend to so many. She was born on September 10, 1967, 20 minutes past midnight, in San Francisco. Her parents would always say that Ingrid was born with a unique strength, a fierce determination and an unequivocal moral compass - qualities that would serve her well throughout her lifetime. Ingrid always made time to support philanthropic causes close to her heart. She served as the Vocational Chair for the Jenesse Center, where it was her unique gift to have a vision of self-sufficiency for the women at Jenesse. Ingrid was the 2012 Silver Rose Honoree at the Jenesse Center's Annual Gala, where she said, "My work with Jenesse is not an undertaking but a genuine and personal passion to do my part and do what matters." In July 2013, Ingrid was diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer and nine months into her diagnosis, she was given six months to live. Despite her diagnosis, Ingrid felt that she had more living to do. And she did just that. When she was physically able, she traveled both locally and nationally to spend her most precious time and meaningful moments with those she knew would truly miss her when she was gone. The Ingrid Roberts Charitable Fund was established in 2014 by long-time friend and NFL Hall of Famer Marcus Allen and Ingrid's dear friend, Denise Coleman. They came up with the idea to support Ingrid's desire to offer children and families battling extremely rare and aggressive cancers, such as her own, quality-of-life experiences that would otherwise not be afforded. All donations and proceeds on behalf of the Ingrid Roberts Charitable Fund are allocated to qualifying children and families in need. A few of the benefactors that will assist in locating those in need of support include, but are not limited to, UCSF Medical Center, UCLA Medical Center and LSU Medical Center. Ingrid passed away in her home on June 8, 2015, 20 minutes after midnight - a perfect and divine bookend to the exact time of her birth. Ingrid is survived by her son (Anthony), parents (Linda and Herbert), siblings (Julie Roberts Taylor, David Roberts and Andrea Roberts Carter) grandchildren (Isabella, Layla and Xavier), as well as her loving godchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous dear friends. Services will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles on Monday June 22, 2015 at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to www.IngridRobertsCharitableFund.com.
