Irven "Pete" Reynolds Jr. Obituary
April 2, 1926 - December 26, 2016 Pete was born in Covina, California. He passed peacefully in his sleep at the age of 90.  He is survived by his 4 children: John, Vicki, David and Don; eight grandchildren: Brennen, Lorena, Margaret, Kevin, David, Vanessa, Joshua and Emily; and 5 great-grandchildren: Kaylee, William, Aidan, John, and little Pete.   Pete grew up in Covina with his parents, Gertrude and Irven Reynolds Sr., and his older sister Pat. Pete graduated from Covina High School in 1943 and joined the Navy, serving from 1943-1946.  After the Navy, he attended Mt. San Antonio College and was in the first graduating class.  He served as captain of the tennis team and was later inducted into the Mt. SAC Athletic Hall of Fame. After Mt. SAC, Pete attended the University of California, Berkley, graduating in 1950. In 1950, Pete went to work with his dad, Irven Sr., at Reynolds Buick which was originally located on Citrus Avenue in downtown Covina starting in 1915.  In 1965 they moved the dealership south on Citrus into West Covina, where the dealership thrives to this day. In 1952, Pete married Caroline Elliott.  They were married for 64 years, passing within months of each other.  They loved to travel throughout California, the nation and the world. But one place held a special place in their hearts: their beloved vacation home at Cottonwood Cove. 8   Services will be held Friday, January 6th at 11:00AM at: United Methodist Church of Glendora 201 E.
