Irwin Schulman Obituary
June 1, 1934 - August 11, 2017 Irwin Schulman of Los Angeles/San Francisco peacefully passed away at UCLA medical center after a short battle with pneumonia. His children, Lisa and Aaron, were there to hold his hands and comfort him during this transition. Irwin went out of his earthly body the same way he lived his life, singing and dancing to "Over the Rainbow" and Ella Fitzgerald's song book. The son of Charles & Edna Schulman (Cohen) and a native of New York, Irwin first came to Los Angeles in 1949. He attended Fairfax High School while working for his favorite Uncle at Grand Central Market. In 1960, Irwin graduated top of his class at UCLA School of Law and quickly became a respected senior attorney serving the State of California for 50 years at Caltrans, Legal Division. Irwin's marriage to Bonnie Lamie (1966 to 1994) was followed by a 25 year relationship with his best friend. He was immensely proud of his children and supported them no matter where their paths might lead. Irwin was a lover of great music, opera and art, frequently attending shows and museums around the world during his seemingly non-stop travels. Irwin will be remembered for his generosity, acute ability to get a deal, his sense of humor and his kindness. There will be a 6:00PM memorial service on August 26th at "Pace Joint" located at 7862 Sunset Blvd.
