J. Michael Crowe Obituary
July 10, 1943 - April 20, 2016 Michael Crowe, beloved husband, loving father, cherished big brother and brother-in-law, wise uncle, smitten great uncle, first-born son and loyal friend, died on April 20, 2016, with loving family at his bedside. Michael was born in Los Angeles where he lived most of his life. He attended Cahuenga Elementary, John Burroughs JH, Hollywood HS and UC Santa Barbara before receiving his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his law degree from UCLA School of Law. In the course of his highly successful career, he was a deputy DA in Ventura County and an accomplished trial lawyer and partner, first at Adams, Duque and Hazeltine, then at Jones Day, finally at Crowe & Rogan, where he represented major corporations in complex commercial litigation. In semi-retirement, he became a trial competition coach and adjunct professor at Pepperdine Law School, mentor and volunteer sheriff. Michael enjoyed world travel, surfing, karate, tai chi, competitive shooting, skiing, German Shepherds, race cars, marathon running, drag racing, relentless teasing and eating peanut butter straight out of the jar. He is survived by his wife, Victoria; his son, Sean, and his fiancée, Pat; his daughter, Katherine; his brother, Terry, and his three sisters, Linde, Vicki, Tracy and their spouses. He will be forever missed. Donations in his honor can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and the CHP 11-99 Foundation.
