Jack Alvin Weyer Obituary
May 9, 1934 - May 2, 2017 Jack Alvin Weyer was granted his angel wings on May 2, 2017, having lost his battle with brain cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by family. Jack's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time one lives. His wonderful smile and infectious laugh brought so much joy to his family. A graduate of Alhambra High School, Jack was proud to have served his country as a paratrooper in the Army. He enjoyed a successful career in the oil pipe, valve and fitting supply business with Grant Supply Company, Republic Supply Company and McJunkin Corporation and retired in 2001. Playing golf, fishing, and meeting up with groups of friends such as The Nineteeners were favorite retirement activities. He spent many leisurely hours fishing off the coast of Mexico and off the rocks in Dana Point. During the past five years, Jack could be found working out at the YMCA three days a week. He enjoyed listening to country music and telling fun stories from his childhood. Jack is survived by his loving sons, Steven and Scott, and by his sister, Muriel Lauger, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jack chose not to have any funeral or memorial service but rather be cremated and have the family hold onto his ashes for one year. We will then spread his ashes off the coast of Newport Beach, California on May 5, 2018 in the same longitude/latitude coordinates where the ashes of his loving wife, Valerie Weyer, were scattered twenty years ago. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: /www.cancer.org.
