Jack B. Sandow Obituary
August 22, 1922 - January 14, 2017 Jack B. Sandow, 94, passed away peacefully at home in Palm Desert, surrounded by loving family, on Saturday, January 14, 2017. He was born in Orange, California on August 22, 1922, grew up in Los Angeles, graduated from Roosevelt High School, and married his high school sweetheart Miriam Lemlech in 1941. Jack served in the US Army Air Corps from 1942-1945 and completed training as a B-24 pilot. After the service, he went on to a long and successful career as a wholesale produce salesman, and he developed many long-lasting friendships while working at Louie Produce, Perricone and Ramonas, and American Produce, as well as in semi-retirement at Fruit Patch. Jack married Robin Bigelow in 1976, and they enjoyed traveling the world, dining, dancing, and spending time with family. After retiring and moving to Palm Desert he learned to golf, joined a variety of clubs, and made many new friends. He was always happy and smiling and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Anna Sadowsky, sister Mera, brother Eddie, wife Miriam, and stepdaughter Michele Bigelow. He is survived by his wife Robin, stepdaughter Dayna Krebs and her son Tyler and daughter Cassidy, son Bruce and his wife Monika, son Neil and his wife Peggy, and grandson Michael. A private funeral service will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 12:00 noon.
