James David Crute Obituary
January 24, 1932 - September 30, 2017 James D. Crute was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his degree at Clark College, where he was a star player on the football team. He served in the U.S. Army as a medic and x-ray technician. He was a member of Christ Temple Church over 57 years, where, among many other responsibilities, he served as Camp Director for the Southern District Summer Camp. He was a former President of the Lomita Lions Club. He was employed by the U.S. Post Office for 36 years, rising through the ranks to become Postmaster of Harbor City when he retired. Devoted and beloved husband of Mary E. (Allen), father of Czernic (deceased), Jerolyn (David) Sackman, and Melvia (Saeed) Ahmed, grandfather of Zeba, Sanaa, Azam, Asher, Balam and Eddie, brother of Daniel (Evelyn), Nathaniel (deceased), Rhoda C. Tolbert, and Solomon Crute. He was dedicated to the Lord's work and always found the time to render service.
