James Joseph Walsh Obituary
December 24, 1932 - May 27, 2017 Jim Walsh, formerly of Westchester, California, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 27, 2017 in Palm Desert, California, surrounded by his loving wife, Greta, and 5 children.  He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on December 24, 1932 to Walter and Kathryn Walsh.  He and his family moved to Santa Monica, CA, in 1941.  He attended St. Monica's School from 3rd grade through 12th grade. Jim started his career at Hughes Aircraft Company in 1952 and retired early, in 1988 at the age of 55.  He then moved to the desert and played golf at Palm Desert Country Club for 18 years.  Besides golf, Jim loved to travel in his motorhome, go fishing in the Eastern Sierra's with friends and family, ride his bike along the coast, and above all spend time with his family and friends.  He was a member of the Indio Elk's Lodge 1643, where he volunteered his services in the kitchen and dining room. He also volunteered for all the Desert Celebrity golf tournaments, including Nabisco, Sinatra, Diner's Club, etc.  Jim was an incredible husband, father, and papa.  Jim is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 64 years, Greta along with five children, Mike and his wife Melinda, Pat and his wife Hope, Mark, Debbie and her husband, Paul, and Marilynn, and nine grandchildren, Madelynn, Natalie, Jake, William, Erin, Hannah, Riley, Ella, and Austin.  Jim will be greatly missed and always in the hearts of family and his vast group of friends. Services will be held at St. Anastasia Church in Westchester, CA, on Monday, June 12th at 10:30 am.  For more information please contact St. Anastasia Church at (310) 670-2243.
