Janet Helen Chiljian Fox Obituary
July 12, 1929 - December 9, 2017 Mrs. Janet Helen Chiljian Fox passed away peacefully on December 9, 2017. She was born on July 12, 1929 to parents Zabel and Martin Chiljian in Selma California, on a grape farm ranch. Janet and her family moved to San Francisco, where she attended Lowell High School and Heald's Business College. She attended El Camino Community College and graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. Degree in 1982. Janet was married to Patrick Daniel Fox, from Orcut California, in 1964 in Honolulu Hawaii, where she worked for six years for the FAA. Patrick Fox worked for the United States Department of Agriculture USDA. Janet and Patrick met on Aloha Drive in Waikiki, following her sailing to Honolulu on the SS LeiLani with her close friend Barbara from Fresno. Due to Patrick's job transfer, Janet lived in Fajardo Puerto Rico for six years and volunteered for the Episcopal Diocese there, prior to settling down in Ladera Heights, Los Angeles in 1974. She is survived by her sister-in-law Annie Chiljian, and her nieces and nephews, Connie Chiljian Vasquez, Karen Melikian, and Mark and Stephanie Chiljian. Janet was an active member of St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Mar Vista, a member of the Culver City Senior Center, and active volunteer with the Westchester Mental Health Guild, where she worked as a Gilded Cage volunteer, was a docent on the annual home tours, and served on the board. She requests that in her memory any donations be given to the Westchester Mental Health Guild. She will be forever remembered by all those whose lives were inspired by her loving kindness. A memorial service will take place at St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Mar Vista on Sunday January 8, 2018 at 10:00 AM.
