Jeanne Claire Rusnak Obituary
May 22, 1925 - May 4, 2016 Jeanne Rusnak passed away peacefully on May 4, 2016 at age 90 in Diamond Bar, California. She was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania to Amelia and Glenn Cope. Jeanne, along with her parents, brother and sister arrived in Southern California in 1932 after a cross-country adventure in a Model A Ford. She grew up in and around Hollywood, California, attending Hollywood High School and later Occidental College. After settling in the San Fernando Valley with her husband and daughter, she found her true calling in display advertising, working for over 30 years for the Daily News, formerly the Van Nuys News and Green Sheet. Jeanne then retired to senior living in Long Beach to be closer to the ocean she adored her entire life. She especially enjoyed family vacations in Laguna Beach and spending time in Malibu with her family. She was an avid reader, which was a life-long passion of hers, and her mornings were always spent with the L.A. Times, especially the Sports section. She had a great sense of fun, and loved playing games and reading to her grandchildren. Jeanne will be remembered by all who knew her for her enthusiasm and love of life. We will never forget her beautiful smile and generous spirit. Jeanne was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her sister Dorothy Parlee, brother William Cope, and son-in-law Jerry Clyatt. She is survived by her loving daughter, Susan Rusnak Clyatt, her grandson Glenn Benjamin Clyatt, granddaughter, Amelia Jeanne Clyatt, three great grandchildren, Shane, Zoe and Nausicaa, and nieces Sandra Connelly, Suzy Myer McDermott, and nephews Bill and Greg Myer. Services will be private.
