August 18, 1923 - December 28, 2016 Jeanne W. Carlson of Culver City, CA passed away on December 28, 2016. Jeanne was born on August 18, 1923 in Los Angeles, CA to Arthur and Merle Wright. She attended local schools and graduated from Los Angeles High School in 1941. Jeanne continued her education at UCLA where she was affiliated with the Delta Delta Delta sorority. Upon graduation from UCLA, she joined her father in the family's land development business in which she remained actively involved for over thirty years. After a friend arranged a blind date, Jeanne met Kurt Carlson who soon became her first love; they were later married in September 1946. Jeanne developed a love of travel starting in 1951 when she and Kurt toured Europe during a three-month adventure. After the many trips over their years together, Jeanne and Kurt would come home and share their experiences with family and friends with the wonderful pictures they had taken. With this keen interest in travel and photography, they joined and became active members of the Los Angeles Cinema Club. After Kurt's passing in July 1986, Jeanne continued on with the Cinema Club where she later met and ultimately married Ray Collin in February 1990. With their new life together, Jeanne and Ray extensively traveled the United States, which they continued to do up until Ray's passing in December 2004. Jeanne was very active in the Tri-Delta Alumnae Association of the San Fernando Valley and was an active sponsor of the sorority's Sleigh Bell luncheon, her most favorite philanthropic event. Jeanne is survived by her sister, Merle Wright of Palm Desert, CA, sister-in-law Patricia Wright of Lake Arrowhead, CA, her two nephews Jeff Wright (Ellie) of Woodland, CA and Bradford Wright (Carol) of Pasadena, CA, six great nieces and nephews, and two great-great nieces. She is also survived by Ray Collin's two adult children, Marsha Herzog of Culver City, CA and Phil Collin of Torrance, CA. Services will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 12pm. The service and burial Mass will be conducted at the chapel with graveside services following immediately thereafter. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the .
