Jeannette Tobin Cameron Nadell Obituary
March 19, 1920 - April 9, 2017 Jeannette Nadell, 97, passed away peacefully at her home in Encino, California on April 9, 2017. Jeannette was born in Detroit, Michigan. She was the loving daughter of the late Louis and Adele Shiell. She was predeceased by her sisters, Pearl Cole, Ruth Kahn and her brother Oscar Shiell. In addition, she was predeceased by her husbands Ben Tobin, Barry Cameron and Joe Nadell. She was also predeceased by Mark Nadell (Pati). Jeannette is survived by the light of her life, her sons Herbert Tobin (Francine), Steven Tobin (Diane) and Barry Nadell. She is also survived by her fan club presidents/grandchildren Mark Tobin (Christine), Jodi Tobin Freedman (Paul), Jennifer Tobin Tetrick (David), Jason Tobin (Holly), Kim Tobin, Jocelyn Tobin Wasserman (Jared), Lance Tobin, David Nadell (Tamar), Ronnie Beth Lasky (Alan), Rachel Nadell, Jordan Nadell, and her treasured 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeannette lived a beautiful life, loving her family and very dear friends. During her years living in Miami Beach, Florida, she was very involved and dedicated to volunteering at North Beach Elementary School and Temple Beth Shalom. After moving to California, she unselfishly spent the next 50 years making a powerful and positive difference by chairing and fundraising for The Los Angeles Group for the Blind Children of Israel, started by her father Louis Shiell. She truly defined what it means to live life to the fullest. The door to her kitchen was always open to everyone. What mattered most to her was that you left with a full stomach and a huge smile on your face. Whether you called her "Jeannetty, Yenty, or Baubee," everyone always knew that they had a very special place in her heart. The family extends their deepest gratitude for the extra tender love and care from Marianna Johnson, Barry Greene, the dedicated Bethany Homecare staff and Tri Valley Hospice. We also want to thank her numerous friends as well. The funeral will be held Thursday, April 13, at 11 A.M. at Groman Mortuaries at Eden Memorial Park 11500 Sepulveda Blvd., Mission Hills, CA 91345. A celebration of Jeannette's life will take place immediately following the funeral at the home of Jonathan and Laura Greenburg (location and map will be distributed at the funeral). The family requests that in lieu of flowers, you make a donation to in her treasured memory. She would have just loved that! She will live within our hearts forever and surely be missed deeply by all who were blessed to feel her love.
