Jessie Franzheim Daum Obituary
March 14, 1925 - May 26, 2017 Jessie Franzheim Daum, age 92, passed away at home in Corona del Mar, California on May 26, 2017. Jessie was born March 14, 1925 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the second of three children to Louise Whitaker Franzheim and Harry Conrad Franzheim Jr. After her father's retirement as an executive at the Wheeling Steel Company, she and her family moved to Seattle, Washington. It was there she blossomed into a fun-loving, vivacious young girl who enjoyed summers on Lake Washington with many friends. She attended Seattle's Helen Bush School, but went back east to complete her high school education at the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, near Philadelphia. She later returned to California, attending Scripps College. In 1950, married with three young sons, Jessie and her husband, Dwight Stuart, settled in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles, California, where she became involved with the Women's Junior League and hosting fundraisers for several local charities. She was also active as a den mother to a few Cub Scout troops in which her boys were members. And, she was an active participant in her sons' education and school activities. Jessie loved the sunny beach weather and was a member of The Beach Club in Santa Monica, CA. After her divorce, Jessie relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona with her young sons and began a new chapter of her life. She made many new friends in Arizona and continued her volunteer work until ocean breezes beckoned her back to California and the bayside community of Corona del Mar. It was there that Jessie met the love of her life, an engaging real estate executive, William Howard Daum. They were married in 1969 and from then on, enjoyed a mutual passion for world travel with many close friends; playing tennis at home and on People-to-People tours; hosting parties in their seaside and Palm Desert homes, and thoroughly enjoying life which was shared lovingly with their wonderful dogs. Her husband, Howard and her younger brother, Harry Franzheim III, predeceased Jessie in life. She is survived by her three sons, Dwight and Bruce Stuart of Beverly Hills, CA; Woody Stuart of Palm Desert, CA; her grandson Joseph Stuart of Palm Desert, CA; her sister Louise Maison of Seattle, WA. Three stepchildren, Valarie Huff and Bill Daum of Livermore, CA, and Lisa Wagner of Redstone, CO also survive her. During the last years of Jessie's life she was warmly attended to by her caregivers, Rose, Marcy and Taunia, and her dear friend, Sally. A private interment will take place at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona del Mar, CA.
