Joan Scanlon St. Clair Obituary
March 18, 1931 - July 20, 2016 Our Beloved mother, Joan Scanlon St.Clair entered heaven at 85 years young on July 20th, after suffering complications from lymphoma. Born in Santa Monica and raised in Brentwood, Joan was the youngest child of Ernest and Marion Scanlon. She is predeceased by her beloved siblings Ernie Scanlon and Ruth Millsap. Joan attended St. Paul the Apostle and Marymount High School, where as the Class of '49 valedictorian she made life-long friends and indelible memories. An ardent USC Trojan, Joan attended her first SC football game at age 14 and was a faithful season ticket holder for 50 years. Joan lead a joyful life filled with honesty, integrity and a great sense of humor. Her Christmas cards were legendary. She cherished her time spent at Lake Almanor and Balboa Island. She loved oysters, the NY Times crossword puzzle, reading, entertaining, traveling, music and her faith; Joan never met a dog she didn't love. Most of all, she loved her family: children Charlie (Maria), Steve, Scott (Karin), Liz Chalmers (Scott); her treasured grandchildren Courtney (Chris Werner), Tyler, Westley, Christian, Parker, Riley, Connor, Brooke and Katie; biggest joy and littlest fans, great grandchildren Henley and Harlow Werner. Her legacy of love, courage and positive outlook will live on in us forever. FIGHT ON, Mom, Gramma, GiGi. Our matriarch. We'll love you always. Services on August 1st 11:00AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Newport Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The .
