John Elbridge Gary Jr. Obituary
March 13, 1927 - May 28, 2015 John Elbridge Gary, Jr. was born in Los Angeles in 1927. He was raised in San Pedro and Silver Lake, and graduated from John Marshall High School. He served in the U.S. Navy Hospital Corps in San Diego at the end of WWII and later attended USC where he pledged Phi Gamma Delta. It was at USC where he met his sweetheart, Diana. He and Diana were married for 64 years and raised 8 children who were his pride and joy. John happily paid for 8 college educations and 6 weddings. He worked at Cosgrove & Company and Marsh & McLennan as an Insurance Broker until his retirement in 1986. John enjoyed his 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild (although at low decibels.) He had a passion for golf and enjoyed fishing trips to Huntington Lake with "The Dewar's Four." John was a talented woodworker and created many props for his wife's theater group, "The Nine O'Clock Players," over the years. He wrote sweet love notes to his loving wife Diana before her passing in 2014. John was dearly loved and will remain in our hearts forever.
