1942 - 2015 Obituary Condolences
John (son of the late John & Aileen McEvoy) was born in Taft, CA on Sept. 23, 1942, and passed away in Irvine, CA on Oct. 4, 2015. John attended Dominguez Seminary in Compton for his high school years. Proceeded to Claretville for 4 years studying Philosophy. Attended Catholic University of America for Theological Studies, and obtained his Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. John's early professional days were spent with Catholic Youth Organization in Phoenix. He started his 30 year career with the U.S. Department of Justice in the Drug Enforcement Administration, Western Region, and retired as Administrative Officer, U.S. Attorney's Office, Central District of California. He is survived by his family who loved him more than words can say, his beloved sister Katie McEvoy-Hein, brother-in-law Jeff Hein, nephew Jeffrey (& wife Julie), nieces Meghan and Bridget, & Bergin Cousins of Abbeyleix, Ireland. This lifelong ardent Notre Dame booster was equally proud of his Irish heritage and nickname "Uncle Wacky." John's charisma, kindness & humor are already greatly missed by his many friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, Oct. 8th at Brown Colonial Mortuary with a vigil service at 7:00 PM in the mortuary chapel. The Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, Oct. 9th at Holy Family Cathedral, Orange. Burial to immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery, Los Angeles with reception hosted afterwards in Orange County.
