Joyce C. MacRae Obituary
September 19, 1937 - August 2, 2017 Born and raised in New Jersey, Joyce MacRae graduated from Connecticut College for Women with a degree in English Literature. She began her editorial career at Condé Nast in New York, working at Vogue and House & Garden, and ultimately moving to California as West Coast Editor. Her extensive expertise in design, color, fabrics, domestic architecture, antiques, and garden design made her a sought-after resource for many leaders in design. She was a founding Board Member of the Decorative Arts Study Center in San Juan Capistrano and served on the Boards of the Los Angeles Conservancy and the Decorative Arts Council at LACMA, among others. She passed away at Nazareth House after a long illness. Joyce is survived by cousins Joseph Syseskey of CA and Cynthia Langill of MA. She is greatly missed by her many friends who remember her for her generosity of spirit.
