Juan Manuel Ponce Obituary
November 28, 1929 - August 14, 2015 Age 85, Juan passed away peacefully on August 14, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Tlajamulco, Mexico he made his home and raised his families in Paramount and Downey, Ca. He is preceded in death by his mother Maria Marquez Ponce, father Jacinto Ponce, and his younger brother Enrique M Ponce. He served our country in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. Upon his discharge, he attended Long Beach State College while working full time for Pioneer Flinkote Company. He retired from Flinkote after 29 years of service. After his retirement, Juan pursued his love of real estate until his last week of life. He enjoyed being a member of St. Raymond Catholic Church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Downey) and St. Dominic Savio Church (Bellflower). He is survived by his ex wives Paula Ponce, Esperanza Ponce, his sisters Esperanza China, Teresa Ramirez and his eleven children, Sandra Starn (Clifford), Mary Ramsey (David), Ray Ponce (Karen), Jack Ponce (Deana), Abraham Ponce, Cathy Kustra (Steve), Miguel Ponce, Juan Manuel Ponce, Maria Concepcion Ponce, Michael Jacinto Ponce and Ashley Guadalupe Ponce, 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren along with many friends and neighbors. A rosary/viewing will be on Wednesday,19th at California Mortuary 9830 Lakewood Blvd in Downey. Funeral mass is Thursday at 9:30 am at St. Dominic Savio Catholic Church at 13400 Bellflower Blvd, Bellflower. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery East LA at 4201 Whittier Blvd. LA. In lieu of flowers, family request donations to City of Hope hospital in Duarte, CA or to one of the his three churches above.
