Judith Licata Bustany Obituary
July 6, 1939 - March 11, 2015 Child actor, teacher, television comedy writer, playwright, and human rights activist Judith Bustany, age 75, passed away at her home in Studio City on March 11, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Donald S. Bustany, daughter Kristen N. Kessler, son Geoffrey Kessler and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. At age 10, Judith began a brief acting career that included performing in plays on Broadway and in television. After graduating from St. John's University, she taught high school in New York and California and went on to have a writing career that enabled her to use her well known wit on television comedy series. Her last writing project was a collaboration with the late great Billy Barnes on the musical, "Murder at the Villa Ragacci." Judith was strongly committed to human rights and peace-making initiatives and travelled to Iraq, Palestine and throughout the middle east bringing medicines and educational support to those in need. She was the vice-president of PEN-West and served on the board of LAANE. An on-line obituary may be found at http://tributes.com/obituary.
