Judy Howard Coblentz Obituary
September 6, 1942 - November 26, 2016 Dr. Judy Howard, best known for her work with children with special needs and infants born at high risk for developmental delay, died in Thousand Oaks, California. She was born to Bert and Thelma Howard in Michigan. She received her pediatric training at USC and subspecialty training in Child Development and Genetics at UCLA. In 1974 she was appointed Medical Director of the UCLA Intervention Program. Throughout her 44-year career at UCLA, she made great contributions in the Department of Pediatrics, trained many subspecialty fellows and hundreds of pediatric residents, served on national and state boards and committees, received multiple contracts and grants for her research, as well as awards for her dedication and service. She is survived by her brother, Jeff Howard; and sister-in-law, Laurel Howard; her three nieces; Lisa Howard, Michelle MacKenzie and Tracy Householder, their husbands, three grand-nephews, and three grand nieces. A private ceremony to celebrate her life will be held in Hawaii.
