Judy Simpson Platts Obituary
December 24, 1941 - January 2, 2018 Judy was raised in Illinois and graduated with a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Iowa. It was there she met her husband, Alan Simpson. They traveled extensively with their two sons before settling in the San Fernando Valley. Alan died of cancer in 1993. Judy was a teacher before starting a 25-year career in health management. One of her greatest accomplishments was publishing "I Want to Stop Smoking - So Help Me God!" Judy was an active member of the St. Luke congregation. In 2001, she married Cork Platts, a fellow St. Luke member. Judy enjoyed the Bible, walking, cooking and reading; her knitting needles or crochet hook were never out of reach. She was also a passionate Rams football fan. She is survived by her sons, Guy (Jenny) and Andrew (Saori), four grandchildren: Julia, Justin, Kinsey and Bond; sisters Marilyn, Carol (Ron) and Darlene (Rich) and brother Larry (Linda); eight nieces and nephews.
