October 28, 1919 - September 5, 2016 Jules Cyril, 96, of Los Angeles, California, passed away on September 5, 2016. Julie was born in the Bronx, NY., on October 28, 1919 to Samuel and Sarah Cohen and is survived by his daughter Eva Cyril, and siblings William Cyril and Faye Weiss. Julie received a degree in accounting from New York City College, where he forged many close and lifelong friendships with his Chi Delta Rho fraternity brothers. He went on to serve honorably and proudly as a Commander in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He regaled his friends with endless stories of his experience in the military and his many business ventures. In the early 60's with his private plane, he flew doctors, priests, medication and food on missionary flights to deprived areas in Mexico. Julie was a force of nature and had an intense love of flying which he shared with his students as a flight instructor. When not in the skies he enjoyed traveling the world, visiting with friends, golfing and the performing arts. Julie will be remembered as a kind and generous man who touched the lives of countless people with his zest for life, morals, values and pure honesty. He was a source of inspiration and was genuinely committed to making a difference in his community. His passion for life, unwavering support and willingness to help family and friends were unmeasured. His kindness and support was extended to the staff of the building he lived in for more than 30years and was returned in kind. Julie was many things to many people and all agree he was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Julie will be cremated and laid to rest at sea but he will remain in our hearts forever. A "Celebration" of his life will be held on October 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Event Room at his residence. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the .
